We are Hiring: Specifications Area Manager
Biddle, a proud member of the family-owned Carver Group, is seeking a Specifications Area Manager to join our dynamic team. With manufacturing bases in the Netherlands and the UK, we specialise in producing high-quality Air Curtains, Fan Convectors, and Fan Coil Units for various sectors including industrial, educational, and commercial markets such as hotels, airports, shopping centres, schools, railways, and office developments.

Role Overview
As the Specifications Area Manager, your primary responsibility will be to engage with architects and consulting engineers, promoting our full range of Fan Coils, Air Curtains, and related heating products. We are looking for someone with proven experience in specification sales, capable of building strong relationships in the architectural and consultancy sectors, and who can confidently discuss technical aspects of our products.

Location
Based from home, reporting to the Sales Director.
This role focuses on specification sales to architects and consulting engineers within the M25 catchment area and Greater London.

Focus
80-90% of your time will be dedicated to winning specifications and influencing Architects and M&E consultants. Previous HVAC experience and established relationships are highly desirable.

Business Development
Cultivate new and existing Biddle customers within your territory.

Client Engagement
Conduct 6-8 meaningful customer appointments per week.

Targets
Achieve agreed GP margins and sales targets.

Customer Relationships
Maintain and enhance customer relationships through regular communication and visits, tracking and following up of projects.

Market Presence
Raise Biddle's profile through effective seminars, comfortable with conducting 2-3 CPD seminars per month.

Sales Enquiries
Respond to customer inquiries and follow up on all potential leads. Provide technical solutions to influence specifications

Technical Expertise
Analyse specifications, perform technical design reviews, and prepare quotations.

Market Knowledge
Understand competitor offerings and advise customers on the best solutions.

Collaboration
Work closely with the internal sales team to prepare consultant quotations. And to provide accurate and timely Business Specification forecasts to the Sales Director every month.

CRM Management
Comfortable and oriented to maintain and update our CRM system from initial opportunity to order.

Reporting
Prepare monthly sales forecasts and update activity reports.

Team Collaboration
Work collaboratively with regional and national colleagues to support Biddle’s growth.

Continuous Improvement
Attend sales & technical meetings, product launches, and training courses.

Marketing Support
Develop case studies and technical papers with the marketing department.

Expense Management
Submit expenses monthly.
The Ideal Candidate:
Educated to University / Graduate Calibre / A Level education.
Extensive knowledge of air-side or Fan Coil related business.
5-10 years of sales experience in air-side, Fan Coil, or similar products.
Sales ‘Hunter’ within the Architect Consultant HVAC industry.
Comfortable discussing technical interfaces and control strategies for Fan Coils.
Possess established contacts and relationships within the HVAC consultancy specification market.
Strong IT skills and technical/commercial acumen.
Proven track record of collaboration with sales, engineering, and production departments.
Highly organised, proactive, and self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
Ability to prioritise, manage a high workload, and work under pressure.
Commitment to ongoing learning and problem-solving.
